Super Hyaluronic Acid - 2x the moisture retention capacity of HA to keep skin smooth and hydrated for longer period of time
Hyaluronic Acid - 1gm of HA is able to hold 6 liters of water which effectively locks-in moisture on skin. Thus, it helps improve dry and dehydrated skin, leaving skin silky smooth

Direction to Use:
After removing your makeup and cleansing with HADA LABO Goku-jyun Face Wash, pour a nickel-size amount of the lotion into your palm and rub between your hands to warm. Using the HADA LABO patting technique, gently pat onto your face and neck until it is thoroughly absorbed. Wait until the product is fully absorbed to apply any additional moisturizers or to apply makeup. Use twice daily after washing face.
The HADA LABO patting technique - use a small amount of product and warming by rubbing between the palms of the hands and then systematically patting on the face and neck is the recommended application. This patting technique enhances absorption and the moisturizing power of HADA LABO. Paired with circulation-boosting massage and other pampering rituals, it yields luxuriously effective results. Nokie’s review:
First off, I was extremely confused about this product and I had to do tons of research about this “lotion”. I didn’t understand if it was a “moisturizer” or a “toner” because different websites mentioned it as a toner while other mentioned it as moisturizer. I FINALLY found out… Are ready for me to explain??? Yes, of course!

In Asia or more of the Asian cosmetics industry, the word “lotion” is considered a “moisturizing toner” or “softener” after cleansing!!! Here in the West or rather North America, we use “toner” after cleansing to take off extra gunk, dirt, and excessive oil on our face. While in Asia, they do double cleansing (oil/balm and foam/cream) cleansing. The oil or balm base cleanser is the cleanser that takes the makeup like BB/CC creams & foundation off the face and the foam or cream base cleansers are the ones that wash the second time. Many even add exfoliations/scrubs to the routine to REALLY clean the face. Basically, the face is clean and no need for anymore harsh products on the face, therefore they have “moisturizing toner/softener” along with other serums, essences, emulsion etc. to help with the skin enhancement.

This product supposedly being sold every 4 seconds in Japan! It’s sold everywhere from department store to convenient store. It’s very affordable for the quality.  As of 2014, Walgreens sells the products too. However, I know America tends to have certain regulation for the ingredients. So, the product in Japan might slightly have somewhat different ingredients than the product in America.  Therefore, this review is for the original product from Japan and not the one that’s at Walgreens being sold in America.

The bottle looks big but it’s very small. So small, its travel size like! I’ve been using this product for 3 months, morning & night and it’s almost out. I was considering repurchasing it but maybe from Walgreens so I can compare the product but I’ll hold off for now. The product is very watery and slippery so using 2 - 3 drops would be good enough or even less. Little can go a long way! After I double cleanse and use my gentle exfoliator, I use about 2 drops even 3 drops when I feel like my face is more dry than usual. I followed the Japanese patting style (See below). At first, it feels sticky on the face but it quickly absorb to the skin. Just continue to patting the face. Some people can use this as a lotion and call it a night, but I finish up with a moisturizer and other treatments because it’s so light I considered this as one of the serums in my routine.

I would like to love this product more but unfortunately, I cannot get the fact that this product has some paraben in it. There are debates about Methylparaben being harmful to the skin. I know it’s not toxic or harmful with a small amount but the fact that I apply it 2 times a day, it tends to add up. I really do like the affordably & the quality of this product offers but there are other products that offers the same quality without some kind of paraben in there.

The Gist:
Parabens are used to prevent the growth of microbes in cosmetics products and can be absorbed through skin, blood and the digestive system [1]. Parabens have been found in biopsies from breast tumors [2] at concentrations similar to those found in consumer products [3]. Parabens may be found in a wide variety of products including shampoos, lotions, deodorants, scrubs and eye makeup, and are found in nearly all urine samples from U.S. adults regardless of ethnic, socioeconomic or geographic backgrounds [4]. Adolescents and adult females had higher levels of methylparaben and propylparaben in their urine than did males of similar ages [5].
